I live right next to Townlake, like only 100 yards away, and the thought of getting pictures of the flood didn’t even slightly become a thought. Thankfully photographer Reagan Hackleman did and he captured a stunning photo of the famous Stevie Ray Vaughan statue. Since I live in Austin I understand how crazy the flood was but I realized that many people were asking how big of a deal this was and shot a picture this afternoon.
As you can see from the photo there are trash bags around Stevie and this is a great story. Joshua Jake Vaughan wanted to simply help and came up with a great yet simple idea… he brought trash bags and some trash claws and asked people to bring back the trash bag full of, well, trash. Austin is the type of city that people love to help out and ‘Keep Austin Clean.’
Here is Joshua in front of the Stevie Ray Vaughan statue.
