Jason Boland & the Stragglers photo shoot with Daran Herrman of ColoredLion.com – these photos were taken in Cedar Park, Texas before one of their shows. Jason and the gang are some of the nicest people you will ever meet. I first met Jason in Steamboat, Colorado during the MusicFest and chatted about shooting him and his band.
We first planned on shooting in Austin but the weather around the US didn’t cooperate. I began the day with snow on the ground at 6am EST in Columbus, OH heading to the airport to head home to ATX to meet up with the crew. I knew the day was going to be a bit crazy but I think mine was nothing compared to Jason and his band. When I land I learn that Jason Boland is in Austin, but his band is stuck in Tulsa due to snow. They had a gig that night and the show must go on. Sound guy, former drummer and I’m sure some other bench players had to be called in. Fortunately the band landed in Austin around 7pm and were able to put on a great show to a packed house at downtown Austin’s newest bar, Bourbon Girl. (see photos of the show HERE)
