Photographing events can be fun but I always want to make the party more eventful with unique ideas on how to capture people having a good time. We bounced a few ideas around while checking out the venue and came up with having a green screen setup and replacing the background with crazy photos. I have only worked with a green screen one time and that was with video so I didn’t really know how to pull it off… but I did know exactly what I wanted.
I did a bunch of research and found the setup that I believe will work and expedite the shipment so I can play with screen and lights before the party. So I turned my place into a studio for a few days as you can here:
We brought a crew of three people so we could take some candid pictures, green screen and edit photos on the fly so we could throw the photos on the TV’s during the party. The chroma keying (removing the green) wasn’t perfect but the pictures was a huge hit… they had to delay the band to start 30 mins later because there was such a line waiting to get their picture taken in front of the green screen. It was really fun way for people to want their picture taken and got the party started off with a bang!
